Forest Trail Path

Life is what happens while you are making other plans

Amazon Review~

"This book had me kicking my feet and giggling! The banter between Stephanie and Corey was everything I want out of a rom-com and it started right off the bat in chapter one. I didn’t think that the book being set in the late 80s would add much significance to me in the plot, but I was pleasantly surprised that it offered an authenticity and simplicity to the story that is often missing in current books. There were also many moments of depth and self-discovery that I found very enjoyable. Definitely a must read!"

And I Love Her Still

Cowboy poetry and small town romance

 Amazon Review ~

"And I Love Her Still has more layers than the title suggests. This well-written book checks all the boxes. It has a strong female protagonist, an appealing and believable male love interest who isn’t a cliche, dramatic tension set against the background of fire fighting, Cowboy poetry that enhances the storyline, and a sexy plot that propels the action and the reader forward. Looking forward to future books by this writer."

Film stars and mystery ?

Amazon Review~

"I loved this author’s first book and the second did not disappoint. If you’re looking for a cute, sweet romance with spice, a hilariously awkward yet relatable FMC, a sweet golden retriever MMC, some witty, comical banter between the two while solving the oddest, kookiest, non-mystery mystery, and a happy ending - this is it. Do yourself a favor and pick up this book. You won’t regret it."

More to the Story

Pamela Dean

Explore the enchanting world that once was.

The ’80s and ’90s were a time of discovery, when computers weren’t in every home—or every hand. Dating and falling in love are stories as old as time, but the way they unfold is shaped by the era. We passed notes, shared mixtapes, and lived for dances and football games.

My stories reflect what it was like to date, yearn, and love in the days before the internet—when connection was slower, anticipation sweeter, and emotions deeply felt. Here, I share the inspirations behind my work and the tales that have captured readers’ hearts.

Welcome to the past.

And I Love Her Still

Patrick and Kenny mean so much to me. Not only because this was my first book, but because I fell in love with them as I wrote their story. It unfolded for me much as it did for you—I discovered who they were page by page. I cherish that they came to life in the beautiful setting of the Big Valley Ranger District.

In the early ’90s, I was a wildland firefighter and an EMT, fortunate enough to work in Adin, California. While my depiction of this stunning corner of the state is largely fictional, the emotions and sense of place are deeply real. I met wonderful people during my time there and was introduced to cowboy poetry—a simple yet moving art form that became the thread weaving this story together.

I hope you enjoy Patrick and Kenny’s love story as much as I enjoyed bringing it to life.

Vince and Heather’s story started with a simple comment a friend once made about how, as we get older, our entire lives can end up pared down to one or two boxes. That idea stuck with me. Violet Merryweather—or Iolet, as she prefers—is every delightfully quirky actor I’ve ever known rolled into one. I had so much fun stepping back into 1984, with the big hair, muscle cars, and the unmistakable vibe of the L.A. scene. I hope you enjoy their love story and the journey they take to figure out what is in those boxes.

Stephanie and Corey did something I’ve always dreamed of but never been brave enough to try. I live near sections of the PCT and have often wished I could set out with nothing more than a backpack and a whole lot of determination. Since I never took that leap myself, I lived vicariously through them—adding in the kind of trail friends that would have made my own journey unforgettable. I love, love, love the side characters in this book. Grace and Barbara are both badass, funny, and absolutely essential to Corey and Stephanie’s love story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I loved writing it.

Free Bird

Okay—if you haven’t been to this lovely coastal town, put it on your list. I used small bits of the real place in this story, but I mostly fictionalized the area. It was so easy to picture Molly and Tom there.

Molly is determined to build a life of her own and claim her independence, but Tom is unlike anyone she’s ever met. He makes her question what she really wants—and whether it’s possible to have it all. Watching her journey toward self-discovery and sexual confidence brought me so much joy.

Poor Tom doesn’t get the best meet-cute, but he can’t stop thinking about Molly. His short summer breaks in Mendocino have never included a fling… but maybe it’s finally time.
